I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I moved to Arizona when I was in third grade. I love to go back to New York and New Jersey (especially the Jersey Shore) to visit family, but Arizona is a great place to live with so many beautiful places to visit!
Education and Teaching....
I graduated from ASU in December of 1993 and began subbing in the Deer Valley schools. From the first day I subbed, I fell in love with teaching. I was thrilled to be given a long-term substitute assignment in fifth grade. The next year, I was given my first class of third graders. I can still remember the excitement of having my very own class. I stayed in third grade for two years before moving up to fourth. The fourth grade curriculum, students and teachers I had the privilege of working with were incredible, so I stayed there for 23 years! When I heard about the Traditional Academy at Bellair, I was so excited and knew that I wanted to be a part of it from the beginning. In that time, I have been lucky enough to focus on Math and Science. Ms. Mullins and I have worked together since my second year at TAB and make a great team! I work hard to ensure that my students share my enthusiasm for learning and especially develop a love for learning and problem-solving. I have a Master's Degree in Education from NAU and continue to go to training sessions and workshops that can help me become a better teacher.
Family Life....
My partner, Will and I have four kids between us. I have two sons, Anthony and Nolan, and he has William and Grace. We are definitely a football family and love cheering on the Cardinals and the Cowboys. We love to explore beautiful places and Arizona has so many of them! We like to go places in our camper, go to the lake to ride our jet ski, snow ski, hike, watch football and have fun together. My most exciting adventure was skydiving with Anthony when he turned 18! My happy place is definitely the beach, and most summers I go to New Jersey to see family. This year we got to spend time with our new family member, Sophie who is my Great-Niece. We also love hitting the beaches in San Diego and taking trips.
